Areas We Serve
Salon Blue Hair has been on Highway 210 in Hampstead since day one. Most of our clients live within a few miles of the salon, and a good number more drive in from Topsail Island, Wilmington, and the smaller communities in between for cuts, color, balayage, extensions, and waxing. Here is where we sit relative to the towns we hear from most, and what the drive actually looks like.
Right Around Hampstead
Woodside, NC
Woodside sits on the water side of Hampstead, just off Highway 210 near Sloop Point. If you live here, you are already close. The salon is a short hop up the highway, no bridge or ferry involved.
Sloop Point, NC
Sloop Point is the historic point at the east edge of Hampstead, home to the Sloop Point Plantation, the oldest surviving house in North Carolina, sitting right on the Intracoastal Waterway. It is practically our backyard.
Bayshore, NC
Bayshore is one of the small communities that make up greater Hampstead, tucked into the same stretch of Pender County as the salon. It is a quick trip in, no highway merge required.
Skippers Corner, NC
Skippers Corner is another close-in Pender County community along the Hampstead corridor. Clients from here are usually in the chair before their coffee gets cold.
Ogden, NC
Ogden sits where the Hampstead Bypass meets the road toward Wilmington, roughly the halfway point on Highway 17 between the two. It is an easy stretch for anyone splitting their week between Hampstead and the city.
Out to Topsail Island
The coast road out to Topsail Island runs straight through Hampstead, so clients from the island are used to the drive. Same highway, same bridge, just a bit more of it.
Down the Coast
Surf City, NC
Surf City is about 13 miles up Highway 17 and Highway 210, over the high-rise bridge onto Topsail Island. It is a straight shot, roughly 20 minutes with no real traffic to speak of.
Topsail Beach, NC
Topsail Beach sits at the south end of the island, about 20 miles from the salon by way of the same bridge that gets you to Surf City. Give yourself 30 to 35 minutes, longer on a busy beach weekend.
Toward Wilmington
Porters Neck, NC
Porters Neck is about 12 miles south on Highway 17, the first real neighborhood you hit once you cross into New Hanover County.
Murrayville, NC
Murrayville is roughly 9 miles down Highway 17, one of the crossroads communities on the way into Wilmington's northern edge.
Rocky Point, NC
Rocky Point is about 11 miles to the northwest, off the corridor that runs toward I-40 rather than straight down the coast road.
Castle Hayne, NC
Castle Hayne sits about 11 miles west, on the Wilmington side of the Northeast Cape Fear River.
Wilmington, NC
Wilmington is about 20 miles south on Highway 17, roughly 20 to 25 minutes depending on where downtown you are headed. It is the closest full city, and plenty of our clients make the drive from there.
Wrightsville Beach, NC
Wrightsville Beach is about 15 miles south by way of Highway 17, one of the barrier island beaches just outside Wilmington. Expect about 20 minutes door to door.
